# Verifone P400

### Supplied Components

* P400 Plus payment terminal
* Power Supply 
* Ethernet dongle
* Privacy Shield

### Powering on P400

**Step 1:** Face the terminal. Face down on a soft and clean surface to protect the lens from scratches. 

**Step 2:** Slide out and lift the compartment cover with captive screw **A**, then attach the 28-pin connector of the cable to the terminal **B**. Slide back compartment cover and tighten the captive screw as shown in figure **C**

**Step 3:** Connect the power cable to the Ethernet dongle. 

**Step 4:** Place the power cable into the wall. The device will begin to power on if connected correctly.

### Connect to your Network

### Connect to Ethernet LAN

* Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet (LAN) port on the dongle. That is the port marked with ETH or refer to the image below.

|| Note: Connecting the wrong type of cable to the Ethernet port or connecting the Ethernet cable to the wrong port (for example, the RS232 port) may severely damage the terminal.

### Connect to WI-FI
 
**Step 1:** On the terminal display, select **Configure network**

**Step 2:** Select **WI-FI**

**Step 3:** Turn on the **WI-FI** toggle switch

**Step 4:** Select the **+** icon to add a network. The terminal scans for WI-FI networks. 

**Step 5:** Choose the desired network from the list and enter the WI-FI password or select **Add**.

Step 6: Select the check mark to confirm. The terminal

### Rebooting

### Reboot the terminal

1. Go to **Settings** and select **Power**
2. Enter your **passcode**
3. Select **Restart** and confirm
