Configuring and Managing Card Readers

Card readers play a crucial role in processing electronic card payments safely and effectively within a Point-of-Sale system. This guide will help you configure and manage your card readers effectively.


Accessing Card Reader Settings


  1. From the point-of-sale settings, select the Hardware option found within the side nav bar.

  1. Click on Card Reader to view and manage connected devices.


Viewing and Selecting Card Readers


  • List of Card Readers: The interface displays a list of available card readers, showing details such as the device name, device type, and serial number.


  • Active Status: You can see which devices are active. Toggle the active status to select your preferred card reader for transactions.


Detecting New Card Readers


  • Detect Feature: Utilize the “Detect” button to scan for new card readers. This feature will help in pairing new devices with your system.


Troubleshooting


  • No Device Selected: Ensure that a card reader is active and selected to enable transaction processing.

  • Connection issues: If a card reader is not detected, ensure it is properly connected and within range if it’s a wireless model.
