Overview

This guide provides instructions for setting up gratuity options in your point-of-sale (POS) system. Gratuity allows customers to voluntarily tip service staff as a gesture of appreciation, enhancing the customer experience and rewarding exemplary service.

Accessing Gratuity Settings

  1. Navigate to the Payments Section:

  • In your POS system, go to the Payments menu to access various payment-related options, including Gratuity, Taxes, Discounts, Service Charges, and more.

  1. Select Gratuity:

  • Choose Gratuity from the list to begin customizing your tipping preferences.

Configuring Gratuity Options

In the Gratuity settings, you can manage the following options:

  • Print on Receipt: Toggle this option to print gratuity details on customer receipts, ensuring transparency.
  • Allow Custom Gratuity Amount: Enable this setting to allow customers to enter a custom tip amount, giving them the flexibility to tip as they see fit.
  • Disable Gratuity Selection on CFD: Decides whether to disable tipping options on the Customer-Facing Display (CFD) to streamline the checkout process.
  • Auto Close Orders Based on Payment Type: Select specific payment types to auto-close orders, simplifying the transaction process.

  • Suggested Gratuity Amounts: Set default gratuity suggestions for transactions. Configure a default gratuity suggestion for transactions below and above $10 to guide customers on standard tipping practices. This helps set expectations and encourages fair tipping.

By configuring these gratuity options, you can offer a more customized and user-friendly checkout experience, enhancing both customer satisfaction and service staff appreciation.
