Creating and Managing Products in Your POS System

Steps to add a new product
Step 1: On your new order screen, choose the drop-down arrow (a) or slide down the settings bar (b):
Step 2: Tap on Menu
Step 3: Within the "Menu" section, select "Products" to be directed to the categories page
Step 4: Tap the + Plus button to add a new "Product"
Step 5: Enter the required information:
- Product Information
a. Product Name: Click on the field labeled "Product Name" and type the name of the product.
b. Menu Display Name: Enter the name that should appear on the menu in the field labeled "Menu Display Name."
c. Assigned Printers: Click on the "Select Printers" option to choose which printers will print receipts for this product.
d. Printer Name: Enter the printer's name that will handle printing tasks for this product in the "Printer Name" field.
e. Categories: Select the applicable subcategories – click on "Select Categories" to assign the product to a specific category within the menu.
- Modifier Groups
f. Modifiers: Select modifiers that can be applied to the product by clicking on "Select Modifiers."
g. Add-ons: Select the applicable add-ons.
- Description
h. Description: Provide a detailed description of the product in the "Enter Description" field, using up to 1,000 characters.
- Menu Availability and Additional Settings
i. Add to Menu?: Toggle the switch to add the product to the menu.
j. 86 This Product: Toggle this switch if the product is temporarily unavailable.
k. Inventory Tracking: Toggle this switch to enable inventory tracking for this product.
l. Negative Inventory: Toggle this to allow for negative inventory if permitted by your system.
- Set Variant Information
m. Variant Name: Enter the name of the variant in the "Variant Name" field.
n. SKU: Provide the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) number for tracking the product.
o. Price: Enter the base price of the product variant in the "Price" field.
p. Timed Price: Click "Choose" to set a timed price if the product has a different price at certain times.
- Product Settings:
q. Default Modifiers: Click "Select Default Modifiers" to choose the default modifiers for this product.
r. Taxes: Select the applicable taxes by clicking “Select Taxes.”
s. Discounts: Choose any discounts that apply to this product by clicking "Select Discounts.”
How to edit and archive products
From Menu Management, tap on the product and proceed by selecting a product from the list available
a. Edit Product - Begin to edit and make changes to the product.
b. To archive a product, swipe the product you want to archive to reveal the archive button, then tap the button to confirm. The product will be moved to the archive.
