Managing Discounts in Your POS System

Overview


This comprehensive guide is designed to assist you in setting up discount parameters within your Point of Sale (POS) system. Offering a discount is a strategic way to provide reductions on total purchase amounts, making it perfect for promotions or employee benefits


Accessing Discount Settings


  1. Navigate to the Payments Section:
  • Select Payments in your POS system to access payment-related options such as Gratuity, Taxes, Discounts, and more


  1. Select Discounts:


  • Click on Discounts to manage available discount configurations.



Configure Discounts


Within the Discounts section, you can define and apply various discounts:



  • Discount Name: Enter a recognizable name for the discount (e.g., Employee Discount).

  • Amount: Specify the discount amount or percentage.

  • Require Manager PIN: Specify if a manager’s PIN is needed or apply this discount.

  • Applicable Products: Choose the products or services eligible for the discount.


Adding a New Discount


To create a new discount, follow these steps:


  • Click the Plus icon



  • Complete the fields:



  • Name: Provide a name for the discount.

  • Discount: Define the discount value whether it's a fixed amount or a percentage.

  • Discount Type: Choose between a Percentage or Fixed Amount.

  • Applicable Products: Choose applicable items.

  • Require Manager PIN: Enable if managerial approval is needed.


Scheduling Discounts


Configure Scheduled Discount Availability:


  • Toggle the option: Toggle this option to activate scheduling for the discount.

  • Start and End Dates: Set the duration for which the discount is valid.

  • Select Time: Schedule the discount to be active on certain days or times.


This feature ensure that discounts are strategically applied in alignment with your promotional goals. By setting these parameters, you can maximize the impact of your promotional campaigns and maintain control over discount usage.
