Generating reports in a Point of Sale (POS) system involves accessing the reporting feature, selecting the desired time frame, and choosing specific data points like sales, inventory, and customer transactions. By analyzing this data, businesses can gain insights into performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

How to Generate Reports in POS



Step 1: From your new order screen tap the drop-down arrow (a) or slide the setting bar down (b):



Step 2: From the Settings tap on Reports



Step 3: Then you will be directed to Reports tab, reports can be viewed with the following information:



a. Custom Date Range - This feature allows users to select specific start and end dates to filter data or generate reports for a particular period.
b. Number of Order - the total number of orders within the date range: refers to the total count of individual sales transactions processed within the selected date range, offering insight into the volume of transactions during a specified period.
c. Number of Refunds - this refers to the total count of transactions where customers returned products and received a reimbursement issued within the selected date range, helping to monitor the frequency of refund transactions.
d. Refund - this represents the total refund issued to the customer where a customer returns a purchased item to receive a reimbursement of the purchase amount. Providing clarity on the amount of money returned to customers within the selected date range.
e. Net Sales - the total revenue earned from sales transactions after deducting any discounts, returns, and taxes applied. This represents the total revenue generated from sales within the selected date range which gives a clear picture of the actual revenue generated from sales activities.
f. Discount - this represents the total amount deducted from the original prices of products or services during sales transactions. This metric helps assess the effectiveness of promotional activities and pricing strategies on their overall revenue.
g. Tips - the total amount of gratuities given by customers to staff within the selected date range, often in addition to the sales transaction amount. This metric helps track employee's earnings from tips and analyze overall income from customer transactions.
h. Tax - the total amount of sales tax collected from customers within the selected date range. This metric is crucial for ensuring compliance with tax regulations and understanding the tax contributions to overall revenue.
i. Total refers to the overall sum of all relevant metrics, such as sales, refunds, discounts, tips, and taxes. This metric provides a comprehensive view of the financial performance over a specified period.


Step 4: View Summary By - Payment Type:



a. Payment Type refers to the different methods customers use to complete transactions, such as cash or card payments.
b. Number of Transaction - This shows the total number of transactions for each payment type, offering insights into the volume of cash and card transactions individually.
c. Total Amount - this is the total amount of all completed transactions regardless of the payment type. It gives a full picture of financial activity within a specified period.


Step 5: View Summary By - Category:



a. Category - This allows the classification of products or services in the sales summary report, providing insights into the performance of different product groups.
b. Number of Products - this refers to the total count of individual items sold within a specified period. This provides insight into the variety and volume of products moving through sales transactions.
c. Net Sales - is the total revenue from sales transactions after deducting discounts, refunds, and taxes. This figure represents the actual income generated from sales activities within a specified period.

Step 1: Tap on Reports on the side navigation bar of your New Order screen.

Step 2: On the Reports tab, reports can be viewed with the following information:



Net Sales - this shows net sales, which is the total revenue from sales minus refunds, taxes, tips, and discounts.
Total Orders - the total number of orders within the date range
Total Transactions - the total number of transactions on the specified date range
Total Transactions - the complete count of all transactions processed within the specified period.
Total Refund - shows the complete amount returned to customers during the specified period.
Total Discounts - represent the overall amount deducted from sales prices due to discounts applied within the specified period.

Step 3: Tap on the Date view specific specific date or date range.



Step 4: Tap on Net set Details which will direct you to Dashboard transaction sales



Step 5 Reports Overview - A report overview with quarter comparison provides a concise summary comparing key metrics and performance indicators between different quarters.
