Verifone P400


Introduction


This article will go over the steps in setting up your card reader to begin taking payments

Powering on P400


Step 1: Face the terminal Face down on a soft and clean surface to protect the lens from scratches. q2


Step 2: Slide out and lift the compartment cover with captive screw A, then attach the 28-pin connector of the cable to the terminal B. Slide back compartment cover and tighten the captive screw as show in figure C



Step 3: Connect the power cable to the Ethernet dongle.


Step 4: Place the power cable into the wall. The device will begin to power on if connected correctly.


Connect to your Network


Connect to Ethernet LAN


  • Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet (LAN) port on the dongle. That is the port marked with ETH, or refer to the image below.
Note: Connecting the wrong type of cable to the Ethernet port or connecting the Ethernet cable to the wrong port (for example, the RS232 port) may severely damage the terminal.



Connect to WI-FI


Step 1: On the terminal display, select Configure network


Step 2: Select WI-FI


Step 3: Turn on the WI-FI toggle switch


Step 4: **Select the **+ icon to add a network. The terminal scans for WI-FI networks.


Step 5: **Choose the desired network from the list and enter the WI-FI password or select **Add.


Step 6: Select the check mark to confirm. The terminal


Rebooting


Reboot the terminal


  1. Go to Settings and select Power
  2. Enter your passcode
  3. Select Restart and confirm
