Printer Management Guide

Three default printer functions available are:
- Receipt/Bill Printer
- KOT (Kitchen) Printer
- Custom Item Printer

Default Printer Functions
- Assigning Default KOT Printer
The Kitchen Order Ticket (KOT) serves as a digital method for transmitting orders to the kitchen staff. This ticket contains essential information, including the table number, the items ordered, their quantities, and any applied modifiers or add-ons.
Step 1: Navigate through the Settings tab > select Advanced > select Printers.
Step 2: Select your default KOT printer model from your printer assignment panel.
Step 3: Results in it becoming the universal printer that prints all products.
Assigning Default Bill and Receipt Printer
The bill/receipt printer is utilized to print order bills and transaction receipts, which can be customized for both customer and merchant copies.
Step 1: Navigate through the Settings tab > select Advanced > select Printers.
Step 2: Select your Bill/Receipt printer model from your printer assignment panel.
Step 3: Results in it becoming the universal printer that prints all receipts.
- Assigning Default Custom Item Printer
Any order containing custom items only will be received by this printer.
Step 1: Navigate through the Settings tab > select Advanced > select Printers.
Step 2: Select your Default Custom Item printer model from your printer assignment panel.
Step 3: Results in it becoming the universal printer that prints all custom items.
Dynamic Printer Functions
- Assigning Product-Specific Routing
- Dashboard Version
Step 1: Log in to the eatOS dashboard > select Menu Management > select Products.
Step 2: Hover to the date section and select the pencil icon to edit the existing product or click + New Product to assign printer.
Step 3: Designate printer assignment.
- POS Version
Step 1: Navigate through Settings tab > select Menu Management > select Product.
Step 2: Select existing product or + Add button to add a new product and to assign a printer.
Step 3: Designate printer assignment by Assigned Printer pop-up selector.
Important Note: Notice that you have the same sets of printers detected for Receipt/Bill, KOT (Kitchen), and Custom Printer. The user will experience duplicated printing if the default printer is the same printer set at the Product-Specific or Category-Specific level.
Assigning Category-Specific Routing
- Dashboard Version
Step 1: Log in to the eatOS dashboard > select Menu Management > select Categories.
Step 2: Hover to the date section and select the pencil icon to edit the existing category or click + New Category to assign printer.
Step 3: Designate printer assignment.
- POS Version
Step 1: Tap on Categories
Step 2: Select an existing category name
Step 3: Assign your category to a specific printer station to print from.
