A Quick Guide to Resolving 'Unbolted' Status

Step 1: Site Network Outage:

When the "Unbolted" status emerges, it could be an outcome of a broader network outage. In such a scenario, the recommended response is to advise the merchant to patiently await the eventual restoration of network services. Acknowledging and navigating these temporary disruptions forms a crucial aspect of optimizing operational continuity.

Step 2: Reader Connectivity Issue:

An alternate explanation for the "Unbolted" status lies in reader connectivity problems. To address this, propose a resolution by initiating a reset via simultaneous pressing of the "#" and yellow buttons for a span of 3 to 5 seconds.

If post-reset, the reader does not transition back to its normal Bolted status within approximately a minute, several potential culprits might be involved:

Hardware: Scrutinize the physical components of the card reader for any issues that may be impeding its seamless function.
Connection Points: Ensure stable connections across various junctures to facilitate uninterrupted performance.
Cables: Evaluate cable integrity and connections to rule out disruptions.
Connected Switch (if applicable): In more intricate setups involving switches, verify their functionality and integration.
Re-establishing Reader Connectivity: After successfully reestablishing reader connectivity and confirming its online status, shift focus to another pivotal facet – the printer.

Check the status bar on the New Order Screen for “Printer Disconnected” in yellow.

If Yes:
Tap and hold down for 3-5 seconds to reset the status.
Test Print.

If No:
The printer status displayed should be “Printer Connected” in green, meaning everything is connected.
